Angelica and Andrew dated for three years before Andrew travelled abroad to Austria. While away, news reaches him of Angelica’s promiscuous lifestyle in the village, prompting him to marry an Austrian woman, Anna, instead. Guided and influenced by her calculating mother, Angelica views relationships as transactional commodities and, through deceptive schemes, sets out to wreck Andrew's new marriage and claim him back for financial gain.
