Biography

Laurice Ilagan Guillen-Feleo (born January 31, 1947) is a Filipino actress, film and television director, and college professor. She began acting in the early 70s until her first major work as a director in 1979 with the romantic drama film Kasal?. In 1981, she helmed the drama film Salome, which was shown at the Toronto International Film Festival. After a short-term retirement, she returned with the multi-awarded 2001 family drama Tanging Yaman and another drama film, Santa Santita, in 2004, which represented her home country at the Bangkok International Film Festival.

Guillen served as Chief Executive Officer of the Film Development Council of the Philippines until 2005 and helped found the Directors Guild of the Philippines. She has led the Cinemalaya Foundation since September 2010, overseeing its core mission to discover, encourage, and honor cinematic works of Filipino filmmakers.
