Prashanth Neel

Biography

Prashanth Neelakantapuram (born June 4, 1980), known professionally as Prashanth Neel, is an Indian film director and screenwriter who works predominantly in Kannada and Telugu cinema. He made his directorial debut with the action thriller Ugramm (2014), which he also wrote.

Neel subsequently gained wider recognition for writing and directing the two-part period action film series K.G.F: Chapter 1 (2018) and K.G.F: Chapter 2 (2022). In 2023, he made his debut in Telugu cinema by directing the action film Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, for which he also wrote the screenplay. Outside of directing, he wrote the story for the action thriller Bagheera (2024).
