Spiros Betsis

Biography

Spiros Betsis is a director and producer. He studied Theatre Studies at the University of Patras and Film Directing at the Hellenic Cinema and Television School Stavrakos. He is a founding member of Not A Project, an artistic collective and production company active in film and theatre.

He works in cinema as a director, producer, and production manager. As a producer, he completed the short film "Leuresthes", directed by Ioanna Roumelioti, which received support from the Micro-Budget Short programme of EKOME – Creative Greece, won two cinematography awards at the 48th Drama International Short Film Festival (DISFF), and screened at other Greek and international festivals. He also produced the short documentary "Loutroupolis", directed by Anna Papadopoulou,which participated in the 49th DISFF. Both "Leuresthes" and "Loutroupolis" have received support through different programmes of EKKOMED – Creative Greece.

He is currently involved as a producer and production manager in the development and production of new film projects. At the same time, he is developing his short film "Different Ways to Fly" as director, while working on the development of the feature film "LYGKAS", with support from EKKOMED – Creative Greece programmes.

Alongside his work in cinema, he is active in theatre as a director and playwright. His first play, "EXIĪ", was published in 2019 by Aigokeros Publications, while his latest work, "MĪ|DEN", was published in 2026 by Thraka Publications.
