Biography

Bruno Stepheson (Rio de Janeiro, April 7, 1994) is a Brazilian director from a family of musicians and artisans from Ceará. He uniquely blends the culture of Northeastern Brazilian migrants and his family upbringing with his experience in Rio de Janeiro society and the global cinematic influences he was exposed to from a young age by his mother, a great cinephile. His films comprise a continuous investigation, which he has christened "Cinema Paradox." In his manifesto, he describes Cinema Paradox as "Professionally amateur/Amateurishly professional; Collectively individual/Individually collective; Fantastically real/Realistically fantastic; Regionally international/Internationally regional; Meticulously improvised/Improvisationally meticulous," while concluding by saying "I believe in fiction/Truly lying/Liarously true... Cut!"
