Jacoba van Velde (The Hague, May 10, 1903 – Amsterdam, September 7, 1985) was a Dutch writer. Her debut novel, De grote zaal, was published in 1953 and was translated into thirteen languages ​​within ten years. Approximately 75,000 copies of this existentialist novel were sold during her lifetime.
