Biography

Sara Sepulcri is an Italian filmmaker, visual artist and historical researcher. Her work explores climate change, migration, perception, memory, language, and the relationship between human and nonhuman life. Working across film, photography, writing, sound and artificial intelligence, she develops projects in which environmental transformation alters the body, communication and forms of memory. Her work is also shaped by a long personal investigation into sound, silence, listening, and the ways bodies perceive the world beyond conventional forms of hearing.

She studied History and Politics at the University of Bologna, documentary and cinema at the University of London, and graduated from the International Center of Photography in New York. Her projects include the experimental sci-fi trilogy Eco-Morphosis: The Evolution of Language and Body, composed of From Singapore to New Delhi, From Rome to Dakar and From Lima to Santiago. She is also the writer-director of INTRA, a feature film in development.
