Biography

Diog’Andante is a writer, screenwriter, and singer-songwriter whose artistic journey is marked by versatility and the emotional depth of his work.

He specialised in Sound and Music: Composition and Musical Performance at Restart (RTP), receiving training from renowned artists including João André, Diana Martínez, Luís Portugal, André Tentúgal, Quico Serrano, and Lara Martins. He also attended Neil Gaiman’s The Art of Storytelling MasterClass, deepening his connection to writing and symbolic storytelling. Spanning literature, music, and cinema, his creative practice is distinguished by narrative sensitivity and a deeply human approach.

Notable highlights include:

— LIGHTNOX, an original EP;

— Songwriter’s Notebook (Volumes I to IV), a collection of 121 original song lyrics;

— His first book, published in English as The Required Epiphany: Unlocking Happiness and in Portuguese as Da Revelação à Construção do Caminho para a Felicidade;

— UNHOLY (RUIM), a fiction short film he wrote, directed by Daniela Pereira Marques – nominated for the “Prémio de Cinema Português – Melhor Filme” at Fantasporto’ 2024; winner of the 1st prize at the III Concurso de Curtas-Metragens de Vizela, Segredos de um Vale; featured in the 5th edition of Imagens no Tejo – Mostra de Cinema Português; and selected for competition at Shortcutz Lisboa. In 2025, it also premiered on national television (Canal Q).

His most recent cinematic work, Within Me (Dentro de Mim), in which he served, among other roles, as screenwriter, producer, and composer, is poised to move and challenge audiences as it begins its journey on the national and international film festival circuit.
