Mohamed Anaanaa

Biography

Mohamed Anaanaa is an emerging Moroccan director and screenwriter , crafting cinematic poetry to provoke the viewer's gaze and cognition. He holds a Master’s degree in Film Art and Visual Aesthetics (2026). His work explores physical space, collective memory, and the constant tension between expression and oppression. His journey to cinema was anything but linear. He began with a Baccalaureate in Physics, before enrolling in a Chemistry degree at university , a year in, he discovered a passion for writing and made the decision to switch to a Bachelor in English Linguistics. It was through writing that a new question emerged , what if these stories could be told in images? That question led him to film, and to yet another leap, leaving English studies behind for a Master's in Film Art. For years alongside this journey he developed his visual instincts independently, making short films with his phone and sharing them on YouTube. His short film Spot marks his official debut ,and hopefully, the beginning of a path where his passion finds the space to grow
