Biography
Born in Texas, Matthew W Hayes is a Cinematographer living in Brooklyn, New York. Originally an editor, Matthew explored filmmaking while earning his BA in Film and New Media Studies from Davidson College in North Carolina. Working across digital and analog film cinematography, His work focuses on intimate portraiture, favoring shoots that experiment with lighting and texture to create an emotional connection with the audience. Matthew is a master at capturing movement and dance in an emotionally expressive light, balancing facial expression, sweeping movements, and atmosphere.
