Nurkhan Zhumabekov

Biography

Nurkhan Zhumabekov was born on March 15, 2008, in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. From a young age, he developed a strong interest in creativity and cinema, discovering filmmaking through experimenting with stories and creating short films.

Before working on his first larger film project, Nurkhan had already gained experience making small amateur films using a mobile phone. His early projects allowed him to explore different aspects of filmmaking and storytelling. Some of his amateur films took part in competitions, where he received recognition and won several contests, encouraging him to continue developing his passion for cinema.

Nurkhan has been a close childhood friend of filmmaker Talgat Maratov, and the two have shared a passion for cinema and creative storytelling since an early age. Their long-standing friendship and common interest in filmmaking eventually led them to collaborate on Tomorrow, which they worked on together in the summer of 2026. The project also involved their acquaintance Nursultan Baatyrev.

For Nurkhan, Tomorrow represents a new stage in his development as a filmmaker, building upon the experience he gained through years of creating amateur films and participating in filmmaking competitions.
