Start of the season. The Belgian couple Lise and Gian decide to build their dream house by Siljan and it is far from a classic Dala house they have in mind. Together with a Belgian architect, they want to create a home that pushes boundaries.
2Grebbestad - can a house be built from oyster shells?
Lotta is a second-generation oyster fisherman in Grebbestad – and now she is taking her passion for the sea to the next level. She will build a home in her hometown, using one of the sea's own residual materials as a building block: oyster shells.
3Trelleborg - a floating home by the quay
Björn has been given a coveted berth in central Copenhagen – where he plans to build an exclusive houseboat that will become both a home and an office. Together with a Danish design agency, he has developed drawings that require an extremely advanced build.
4Svanshall - the designer couple who want to blend in
Eva and Håkan leave the stately doctor's villa in Ramlösa Brunnspark – to a small plot of land above the harbour in Svanshall, a quiet fishing village on the coast of Skåne. Here they want to create a discreet single-storey house for two, but with room for children, grandchildren and friends.
5Hallandsåsen - when art becomes architecture
Cathrine and her husband Jens dream of creating a retreat for rest and recovery – in the middle of Halland's nature. To realize this, they hire architect Johan Sundberg, with the task of designing a Japanese tea house in a Scandinavian style.
6Brännö - modern architect's dream
Damien and Olivia dream of creating a modern home on Brännö, the car-free archipelago island where Olivia's parents' home is located. Their vision stands out: a sharp-cut, minimalist house with a clear metropolitan aesthetic.
7Sälen - architect-designed mountain hut
David and Danielle will build an advanced architect-designed house, with a steel frame and floating column structure – a far cry from the classic log cabin in Sälen. They have never built before – and now they will design everything themselves, remotely from Stockholm.
8Värmdö - the greatest illusion of his lifefinale
Magician Jonas Ljung has taken on the biggest illusion of his life: an architect-designed house on top of a mountain. Together with Evelina, he will create a home inspired by hundreds of nights at boutiqe hotels around the world.
