2014 AL Wild Card: Royals' wacky Wild Card win vs. A's The Kansas City Royals had not made the playoffs in 29 years but in 2014 the drought was finally over. Facing the Oakland A's in a wildcard showdown the Royals played an extra inning game for the ages.
