What Use Is Wildlife?

What use is a mouse, or a wasp, or even a tiger? Surely, in this day and age of technology, wildlife is becoming more and more of a luxury? Should we bother to give it space unless its value can be proved absolutely convincingly? Julian Pettifer , who has mixed feelings about the animals that ransack his own garden, look far and wide for proof that man really needs wildlife anymore.
