Why Is the Dissolution of the SDF in Syria Historic?

The integration of Syria’s Kurdish population is underway. Under military and political pressure from the new authorities in Damascus, the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces have agreed to dissolve. Does this mark the end of autonomy aspirations for 2.5 million Kurds and the beginning of a new era for Syria?
