Why has a bridge become a source of tension between Canada and the United States?

Canada celebrated the opening of the Gordie Howe International Bridge on its side. Instead of boosting trade, it has become a symbol of ongoing tariff disputes. Although Canada fully funded the bridge, it must now share toll revenue with the United States.
