32-year-old Stefan lives in Kastrup in a one-room flat. He works on a rescue ship sailing in the North Sea. When he sails, he spends almost no money. But when he comes home, it's a different matter.

42-year-old Jens lives in Tårs in North Jutland. He works as an agricultural assistant on a pig farm, and it is also his employer that he rents his house from. But Jens owes the rent.

In Rødovre, 25-year-old Malva lives with her little puppy, Lady. She is studying to become a financial economist, but has been through three different educations before, although without completing any of them.

24-year-old Oliver and his girlfriend Sarah have just moved apart. They cannot afford a deposit for a new apartment, so now they live with their respective parents.

Just outside Ribe, 38-year-old Lars lives in a rented house. He is behind on the rent and he has also missed the electricity bill a couple of times. If the finances are not brought under control soon, Lars will be put on the street.

Nicklas from Brønshøj is a mathematics teacher at a primary school. And then he has a towering payday loan debt. He has always looked askance at those who took out payday loans, but now he himself has ended up in the trap of debt.
